Canadian Aborted Babies Incinerated in Oregon Waste-to-Energy Facility to Provide Electricity

VICTORIA, British Columbia, April 23, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com)
– The British Columbia Health Ministry has admitted that the remains of
babies destroyed by abortion in B.C. facilities are ending up in a
waste-to-power facility in the United States, providing electricity for
residents of Oregon.

The province’s Health Ministry said in an email to the B.C. Catholic
that “biomedical waste” shipped to the U.S. to be incinerated includes
“human tissue, such as surgically removed cancerous tissue, amputated
limbs, and fetal tissue.”

“The ministry understands that some is transferred to Oregon. There it
is incinerated in a waste-to-energy plant,” the email stated.

The ministry said that contractors handling the province’s “biomedical
waste” follow “health and safety protocols, as well as federal,
provincial, and local regulations.”

Islamic Teaching: Non-Muslims Equal to Dogs | Raymond Ibrahim

Among those familiar with the true teachings of Islam, it is well
known that the life — or as articulated in Arabic, the “blood” — of an
infidel, that is, a non-Muslim, is not equal to the life/blood of a
Muslim.  Few know, however, that among some of  Islam’s respected hadith
collections, the blood of a non-Muslim is no better than the blood of a
dog.

(Dog-lovers should bear in mind that, in Islam, to be compared to a dog is about the worst and most degrading insult.)

Ibrahim: Islam Unveiled

Who is ultimately responsible for the ongoing attacks on Christians and their churches throughout the Islamic world?

Focusing on one of the most obvious nations where Christians are
regularly targeted—Egypt’s Coptic Christians—one finds that the “mob” is
the most visible and obvious culprit. One Copt accused of some
transgression against Muslim sensibilities—from having relations with a Muslim woman, to ruining a Muslim man’s shirt—is often enough to prompt Muslim mobs to destroy entire Christian villages and their churches.

Days ago, for example, after her cross identified Mary Saleh George as a Christian, a pro-Muslim Brotherhood mob attacked, beat, tortured, and slaughtered her.

However, a recent Arabic op-ed titled “Find the True Killer of Mary” attempts to look beyond the mob to identify the true persecutor of Christians in Egypt. According to the op-ed:

Those who killed the young and vulnerable Mary Saleh George, for
hanging a cross in her car, are not criminals, but rather wretches who
follow those who legalized for them murder, lynching, dismemberment, and
the stripping bare of young Christian girls—without every saying
“kill.” [Islamic cleric] Yassir Burhami and his colleagues who announce
their hate for Christians throughout satellite channels and in
mosques—claiming that hatred of Christians is synonymous with love for
God—they are the true killers who need to be tried and prosecuted… The
slayers of Mary Saleh are simply a wretched mob, with the body of a bull
but the brain of a worm. It’s not the puppets on the string who need
punishing, but rather the mastermind who moves the puppets with his
bloody fingers behind closed curtains that needs punishing.

Abortion Advocates Have Lied to Canadians for Decades: Canadian Bishops’ Group

OTTAWA, April 22, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com)
– Nobody likes finding out they have been lied to. But on the topic of
abortion, this is precisely what has happened according to the Catholic
Organization for Life and Family (COLF).

“For decades, abortion ‘rights’ proponents have fed Canadians the lie
that access to abortion is good for women,” stated COLF, an organization
co-sponsored by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops and the
Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus.

In preparation for the upcoming National March for Life in Ottawa on May 8, COLF released a statement exposing the “lie” of abortion.

“In so many ways, abortion, far from advancing the welfare of females,
represents a grave threat to their welfare and to the welfare of society
at large. Surely, we are justified in asking why so many in our society
continue to believe the abortion lie, how so many are able to ignore
the truth that abortion hurts women.”

How Much Did Jesus Suffer? A Medical Account of Death by Crucifixion

When you reconstruct the medical aspects of Jesus’ crucifixion, the result is a brutal, vivid picture of what Jesus endured to save people from sin.

In 1986, The Journal of the American Medical Association published a series of articles examining the practice of torture. The first piece was entitled “On the Physical Death of Jesus Christ,” by William D. Edwards, M.D.; Wesley J. Gabel, M.Div.; and Floyd E. Hosmer, M.S., AMI.

“The article was an account of perhaps the most influential single event of torture in history with physiologically sound analysis showing the horrifying pain of a common ancient Roman punishment,” editor George Lundberg later wrote in defense of the controversial content.

Drawing on the biblical account of the crucifixion, archaeological evidence and historic documents, combined with modern study, the article aimed to “reconstruct the probable medical aspects of this form of slow execution” (1460). The result was a brutal, vivid explanation of what Jesus endured to save people from sin.

‘Science Does Not Disprove God’: Renowned Mathematician Declares that God Exists

In a book to be officially released nationwide today, a prestigious mathematician is arguing that science does not disprove the existence of God.

Dr. Amir Aczel is a well-known mathematician with a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Oregon. From 2005 to 2007, Aczel was a visiting scholar at Harvard University, and he is now a research fellow at Boston University.

Aczel is also a prolific author, writing regularly for Discover magazine, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Publishers Weekly describes him as “one of our best science popularizers.”
Though Aczel has written about various philosophical topics in the past, he has not focused much attention on the debate over God’s existence. However, that has changed, as Aczel now says atheists’ anti-God arguments are fundamentally flawed. Aczel outlines his position in a book to be released this week, titled Why Science Does Not Disprove God.

U.S. Military Not Backing Down After Group Urges Withdrawal from National Day of Prayer Event

WASHINGTON – The U.S. military has no plans to back out of a National Day of Prayer event after being urged by a prominent activist group to withdraw, reports state.
Mikey Weinstein, the president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, recently sent a letter to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, asking that the Department of Defense distance itself from next month’s observance in Washington. Weinstein said that military participation in the event would suggest the government endorsement of Christianity.

“The planned participation by uniformed U.S. military personnel in this private fundamentalist Christian religious event, run by a non-federal entity, is an unequivocally clear violation of [a] plethora of DoD regulations and instructions,” the letter stated. “The U.S. military absolutely cannot endorse these searingly sectarian events by its public participation in them.”

The event, which will be held at the Cannon House Office building on May 1st, is organized by the National Day of Prayer Task Force, led by Shirley Dobson. Weinstein said that he takes no issue with the National Day of Prayer itself, but believes that the Task Force is using the event to push Christianity on the people.

U.S. Warns Russia of More Sanctions Over Ukraine

SpaceDaily.com reports: “US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew warned his Russian counterpart Thursday of more sanctions if Moscow ‘continues to escalate’ the crisis in Ukraine.

Lew also expressed to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov concerns about reports that Moscow was discussing an oil-for-goods trade deal with Iran, the Treasury said in a statement.

On the sidelines of IMF and World Bank spring meetings in Washington, Lew told Siluanov ‘Russia's ongoing occupation and purported annexation of Crimea is illegal and illegitimate.’

Lew told him that ‘in addition to the sanctions already imposed in response to Russia's occupation and purported annexation of Crimea, the United States is prepared to impose additional significant sanctions on Russia if it continues to escalate the situation in Ukraine.’…”

NATO Releases Photos of Russian Troops Near Ukraine Border

SpaceDaily.com reports: “NATO released Thursday a score of satellite pictures of up to 40,000 Russian troops massed along the Ukraine border that it said are ready for action and represent a ‘real threat’ to Kiev.
The Western military alliance estimates that ‘between 35,000 and 40,000’ Russians, armed with tanks and military vehicles, have been deployed in over 100, mainly temporary, bases to the east of Ukraine.
Brigadier Gary Deakin, director of the Comprehensive Crisis Operations and Management Center (CCOMC) at NATO's SHAPE military headquarters, estimated the troops could be deployed in 12 hours at Moscow's command.
‘This force is very capable, ready to move quickly if ordered,’ he said.
‘It's a concern because it represents a real threat for Ukraine,’ he said as NATO unveiled 19 pictures, most in black-and-white, of several Russian military sites that were shot at the end of March and early April…”

Young Mother with Cancer Lays Down Her Life So Unborn Baby Can Live

NEW YORK – A New York woman is inspiring the masses after she recently passed away following her decision to postpone her cancer treatment in order to save her baby’s life.

Elizabeth Joice, 36, had always wanted a baby. But she was told by doctors that the chances that she and her husband Max could conceive were slim.

In 2010, doctors diagnosed Joice with cancer after locating a malignant tumor. After treatment, she went into remission and was declared cancer-free for three years.
Last summer, after being told that she and her husband may never have children due to the cancer treatment, Joice found out that she was pregnant. However, a month later, the Joices also discovered that the cancer had returned.

Doctors removed the tumor on her lung, but were unaware of whether the cancer had spread in the months that passed without a full MRI. But the MRI could mean terminating the life of the baby. Joice knew she had to save her baby’s life even if it meant losing her own.

Sharing Christ in South Asia Means Sacrifice

Following Christ can be deadly in South Asia. According to Open Doors USA, “Pastors are frequently beaten up or killed, church buildings destroyed, and converts forced to flee their homes.” However, people in this region desperately need to hear the Gospel. One country in South Asia holds the most unreached people groups in the entire world.

A Scriptures In Use worker from South Asia says despite the danger, he and others are risking it all to share the Good News. As a result, “The Gospel is penetrating regions where there has been no Gospel witness before, bringing tremendous hostility to people who are working [there], tremendous persecution for new believers.”

“We are living in a very difficult time of great persecution, great hostility to the Gospel, and a great challenge to the Church.”
